Is it October Yet?

As mentioned in a previous post, September hits teachers like a lightning bolt.  One minute you are home relaxing with a book wearing flip-flips making sun tea and the next you're catapulted into the month of September.

 It looks/feels like this:

So, needless to say, it's been very challenging to remain positive every day with so much going on.  We're all just hanging on for October.  The big, bright smiles of the teachers I pass in the hallway have faded just a bit.  The bounces in our steps are less bouncy.  But we are still smiling, we are still helping keep each other positive.  We all know that this is the time we all need it the most. And that it will pass.  We all will hold on to the positive, even on the days when it's seems impossible because we all are in this together.

Just think -  you only have 7 more (school) days until October.

And as we all know, that's a whole new can of worms.

  2. Hilarious. You know only teachers can decipher and completely relate to your post. I love it as always! Thanks hallway neighbor. Time. To. Take. A. Breath:)

  3. Sooo, soooo, soooo true! It has been a whirlwind these past few weeks/months, and as we continue to fill our days with all you have mentioned (sans spaces) time flies by...our focus is to reap the benefits of our hard work (preparation of classroom, curriculum, procedures, schedules)enjoy the nuances of each student, different recess times, AMPS schedules, parent conferences (oh, one or two didn't show up - *BONUS* get an unscheduled bathroom break),DRA's, Spelling inventories, who has time to visit in the lounge or even contemplate attempting the DAILY SUDOKU, let alone taking time to print it out? But alas, all is good, our time is fleeting, we must stop and smell the roses, and a few stinkin petunias...A smile is worth a thousand words! So happy to be able to vent my positiveness! Carry on:)

  4. P.S. I advocate for twigs, at the very least, getting his picture taken with you and an autograph.

  5. My favorite "losing my coffee cup".

  6. First place to look when you've lost your cup of coffee (or anything else)... that random library shelf next to the only staff restroom. Is there anyone who hasn't left something really important there?? ;)
